Focusing on links with education, intellectual property and the role of the internet, Gigbeth's 2008 conference attracted many music industry influencers to Birmingham where the city's music community was strongly represented.

Telford International Centre housed this years Shropshire Star E-vent. The occasion brought together representatives from the businesses community in the area to learn about new opportunities to work with IT and the internet. Sponsored by the Switch on Shropshire initiative the E-vent continues to grow in size and importance each year.
