The first phase of public consultations on the update of the West Midlands Economic Strategy is now concluded. Over 500 people attended six events which took place around the region to air their views on what should be included in the updated strategy. Between July and September 2007 individuals and groups will be consulted on the draft strategy and in September the updated strategy will be launched. Lord Stafford Award '05
Both Keele and Staffordshire Universities celebrate as winners of the West Midlands leading Innovation Awards, the Lord Stafford Awards. Clinching both the Development and Achievement categories, the Universities from Staffordshire were joined by The University of Warwick for the best "Spin out" company.

MAS First Awards Dinner
The MAS service team for the West Midlands are joined by the Minister for Industry and representatives from the manufacturing sector and other MAS offices across the UK. They joined together to celebrate the success of the first full year of the Service providing specialist, high quality advice and support to manufacturers. The event, which had previously been scheduled to be held at the National Motorcycle Museum, took place in the impressive setting of Hangar One at RAF Cosford. www.mas-wm.org
